Teacher Appreciation Week 2019
Monday, May 6 - Friday, May 10
Sponsored by the PTO, Teacher Appreciation Week is an annual tradition at Barrie School during which parents express thanks and appreciation to faculty and staff for their support of our children. We will have activities and/or events each day across campus. We encourage Barrie families to participate in some or all of the activities/events. Please don't forget the specialists, Extended Day staff, administration team, the nurse, and maintenance staff.
Let’s make this a week to remember for Barrie Faculty and Staff!
Volunteers Needed!
No Later Than THURSDAY, May 2 - Donate Gift Cards
The PTO is seeking Gift Card Donations ($5 value) (e.g., Starbucks, Panera, Chipotle) to be distributed to faculty and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Please drop off your gift card donations to Kim Foard in the Montessori Office, or Luticia Williams in the Prep Office.
SUNDAY, May 5 - Assemble Goody Bags
Join us on Sunday, May 5 from 2:00-3:30pm in the Rothschild Hall Library to assemble goody bags for faculty and staff. Families welcome!
MONDAY, May 6 - Say It with Food
We need volunteers to help with set up and clean up for the All Faculty/Staff Meeting at 4:00pm in Safer Theater.
The PTO has arranged to provide food and dessert from Tortilla Café owner and Barrie parent, Catalina Canales.
TUESDAY, May 7 - Say It with Flowers
Say “Thank You” to the faculty and/or staff with flowers. Some ideas are: draw a flower, make a flower, buy or pick fresh flowers, bring a live plant, or make a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of a faculty and/or staff member.
WEDNESDAY, May 8 - Say It with Treats
The PTO has arranged to provide breakfast treats, coffee, and tea for faculty and staff to “jump start” their day. You, too, may make this day special for faculty and/or staff by indulging them with “healthy” treats.
Volunteers are needed to help with set up and clean up.
THURSDAY, May 9
Say It with Cards
Help us wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week by saying “Thank You” to faculty and/or staff with a card, e-card, postcard, etc.
The PTO will distribute gift cards and goody bags to the faculty and staff.
Help Deliver Goody Bags
Meet in the Upper Elementary Library, and we’ll deliver the goody bags to faculty and staff between 9:00-11:00am. Bring your walking shoes!
FRIDAY, May 10 - Say It with Pampering
Show faculty and/or staff how much you care with a “comforting” gift. For example, spa products, lounging slippers or socks, candles, CDs, books, etc.
