2017 Teacher Appreciation Week

Say “Thank You” during Teacher Appreciation Week!
May 1–5, 2017

Teacher Appreciation Week is an annual tradition at Barrie School where we express our appreciation for the faculty and staff that support our children. Let’s make this a week to remember for the Barrie Faculty and Staff!

The Week

Monday, May 1 – Say It with Food
At the All Faculty/Staff meeting, the Barrie Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) will distribute gift cards to the teachers and staff.

Food (main dish) will be provided by Barrie parent and Tortilla Café owner Catalina Canales.

Tuesday, May 2 – Say It with Flowers
Say “Thank You” to the teachers/staff with flowers.

Draw a flower. Make a flower. Buy or pick fresh flowers. Bring a live plant. Or make a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation in your teacher or staff member’s name.

Wednesday, May 3 – Say It with Pampering
The PTO has arranged seated massages for the Montessori teachers/staff.

Indulge your teachers/staff with comforting treats. Make a spa product. Decorate a candle. Play and record some soft music. Or send them a good book or a thoughtful note.

Thursday, May 4 – Say It Well
The PTO has also arranged seated massages for the Upper Elementary and Prep teachers/staff.

Show the teachers/staff how much you care with a gift of health and wellness. Gifts of fresh fruit, nuts or other healthy treats would be greatly appreciated.

Friday, May 5 – Say It with Cards
Help us say “Thank You” to the teachers/staff with a card. Buy or make a card. Or make our teachers/staff a motivational card or poster. Feel free to get creative!

How Can Parents Participate?

We encourage all Barrie families to join us in saying “Thank You”.

For Monday, May 1st, we need:

Share the festivities with specialists, extended day staff, the nurse, administration team, and other staff members that support your child. Explore these great 'thank you' ideas!
