2010 Barrie Alumni Reunion Picnic
Last Saturday, over 170 Barrie alumni came to campus to celebrate their time at Barrie. Former faculty, staff, parents, board members and students from years ranging from 1950 to the Class of 2010 visited with old friends, enjoyed photos from the past, and met children, spouses and partners.
Head of School, Charlie Abelmann, welcomed the crowd and talked about the importance of stories about the Barrie experience. After turning to share a story with someone, a few spoke about their memorable moment with the crowd.
In addition to enjoying a picnic buffet, watermelon and ice cream, alumni toured the campus, visited favorite spots and swam in the pool to beat the heat.
The Barrie School Class of 2006 may have had the best representation - at least 8 from the class attended - but last year's graduates (2009) were also out in force followed closely by the Class of 1999.
The Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies celebrated their 30th Anniversary with a special cake cutting to acknowledge this milestone.
Campers had a chance to re-live the summer heat on campus and enjoyed the day reminiscing about special event days and traditions.
Please take a moment to check out the photos from our fun day and check out our FaceBook Fan Page - we're sure others may post their shots there!
Special thanks to our reunion committee for their work in planning a fun event and encouraging others to attend:
