Students Learn About Helping Homeless
Some students from Maryland are discovering firsthand how D.C. feeds some of the region's neediest residents. The students are preparing and delivering food to people with HIV, AIDS and other debilitating illnesses. They attend the Barrie School in Silver Spring, which promotes service learning, a connection between studying and doing. This year they are examining the AIDS epidemic. The students choose the curriculum.
