  • Alumna Hannah Moskowitz ('10) to Release New Book Dec. 20

    Following on the success of "Invincible Summer", Hannah Moskowitz ('10), currently a student at the University of Maryland, is set to release her fourth book, Zombie Tag. From Amazon.com: "In her first book for younger readers [age 9 and up], she offers a funny and heartfelt look at how one boy deals with change, loss, and the complicated relationship between brothers."

  • Alumnus Sonny Ganguly ('98) Nominated for "Must Follow Business Personality on Social Media."

    Sonny Ganguly (@sonnyg), CMO of WeddingWire, was recently nominated by Mashable for "Must Follow Business Personality on Social Media." The 1998 Barrie graduate, who attended University of Pennsylvania and completed an MBA at Harvard, shared some of his insight with Barrie News: "Social media offers a great way to strengthen your personal connections, but it is also an effective marketing platform for business. Our company, WeddingWire, has experienced tremendous growth by focusing our social media efforts on what I like to call You-Twit-Face, or more commonly known as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook!"

    Over the summer, Barrie School's Board of Trustees welcomed a few new members to their ranks. This week, we meet William C. Smith, II - a "Barrie lifer", a member of Barrie's graduating class of 2000, and one of Barrie School's newest trustees.

  • Barrie Alumna Jamie Roberts

    Barrie Alumna Roberts: SMCM Female Athlete of the Year

    This year’s SMCM Female Athlete of the Year is senior Jamie Roberts (Rockville, Md./The Barrie School), a three-sport athlete at St. Mary’s who excelled in soccer, basketball and lacrosse. Roberts was also a three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as the SAAC secretary this year.
    In basketball, she earned second team All-CAC honors for the first time in her four-year career in 2010-11.

I have had a remarkable 100 days of sharing school life with students, faculty and family members of the Barrie community. The snow days have helped us learn how life lessons flow from the classroom into the home, and back again – not to mention the inestimable value of a few days’ rest.
