Barrie Prep students attended an annual retreat day at Calleva, an outdoor education and adventure campus and working farm.
The retreat was designed to promote personal growth, group cooperation, and leadership skills. Middle school students improved teamwork through low-ropes courses (including zip lining!), and Upper School students participated in bee-keeping, paddle boarding, horseback riding, rock climbing, and kayaking. The students also milled and cut wood for raised beds (complete with cold covers) in the garden and shelves for the greenhouse. Middle School students spent today installing these items, so they can be used for projects throughout the year.
