Middle & Upper School Admission
To apply for admission to the Middle
and/or Upper School,
please complete the following:
1. Complete the Online Admission Inquiry Form or call our admission office at 301.576.2800 to request an information packet and application forms
2. Schedule testing for the applicant! Applicants for Grades 6-12 are required to submit testing results of the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) or the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). SSAT and ISEE schedule national test dates beginning in October and continuing through June. Applicants register with SSAT and ISEE and pay a fee to them for administration of the test and reporting of results. Results are sent directly to the Office of Admission. The Barrie School’s school code for receipt of SSAT scores is 1495, and for ISEE the code is 210957. For applicants who cannot attend the nationally scheduled tests, local area educational consultants also administer SSAT and ISEE.

4. Arrange for an interview/evaluation. It is important that you keep the date and time assigned to you by the admission office as there are a limited number of openings to accommodate all applicant tours. Prospective students will have the opportunity to meet current Barrie students, learn about our academic and extra-curricular programs, and tour the campus.
The Application and $100 application fee must be submitted by January 18, 2008. Applicant files are complete when we have received transcripts, all teacher recommendations, test results, and the applicant has had an evaluation/visit to The Barrie School. These materials must be received or completed no later than February 8, 2008. The Admission Committee decisions will be sent by mail March 14, 2008. After April 7, The Barrie School begins "Rolling Admission." If space is available, our Admission Committees will consider applications as they are completed.
