Riding and Stables

More than a mere house for our ponies and horses, the stable is a busy part of Barrie's campus where students from ages 2 and 3 through the middle and upper schools come to take riding lessons. The barn is always full of life: students in the Equestrian Program prepare their jumps for local horse shows while summer campers trot along our wooded trails as part of their Barrie Day Camp experience.

Picnic Pavilion

When the weather supports it, students embrace our 45-acre campus by taking their classroom learning outdoors. The Picnic Pavilion is a great spot for lunches, snacks, and outdoor picnics.

Amphitheater

A staple spot for community gatherings, the amphitheater is used throughout the year. Whether to celebrate the diversity on campus or sing at Flag Pole with Barrie Day Campers, the Amphitheater has supported community events for over thirty years.

Strauss Gym and Camp Office

Strauss Gym is well padded for our youngest students to run freely for physical activity. For summer activities on campus, visit our Camp Director in the Camp Office next to Strauss Gym. There is also a music classroom in this building, where students learn the Orff Schulwerk philosophy to music - a music education that develops a child physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually with music.

Pool + Pavilion

How do you make a boat float? Barrie's Middle School students can show you! Annual boat races are held at the swimming pool, where all Middle and Upper School students cheer, whether the student-made boats float or sink. The swimming pool is also a favorite spot for Barrie Day campers. The Pavilion is also a perfect spot for a picnic.

Fields

The fields support a range of events: soccer, ultimate Frisbee and outdoor games, along with community gatherings at the beginning and end of the school year.

Home to Barrie's main gymnasium and the Safer Theater, Barrie Center is central to the Barrie experience, showcasing student expression in fine and performing arts, and hosting a wide variety of athletic activities and competition.

Upper Elementary and Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies

This building houses the 4th and 5th grade classes for the Montessori Lower School, the Advanced Institute for Montessori Studies (Barrie's nationally-recognized training program for Montessori teachers), as well as a nurse's office.
