Echoes from the Titanic
February 5-6, 2003 7:30pm

"Echoes" is the real account of what happened on the Titanic when it struck the iceberg. The survivors provide you with their account of the famous incident. The play is an adaptation of the 1912 Senate hearings on the disaster. This re-enacted testimony gives witness to the events surrounding the rush to the lifeboats and the rescue of the survivors. The pieces of the story fall into place, as one by one, the survivors tell their story. This is a gripping tale of honor, valor, sacrifice, and suffering.

A, "brash, fast-moving study of a women's basketball team on tour in small-town mid-America...genuinely funny...built around female banter and a strong strain of truthfulness." This show is based on the various women's basketball teams that toured the country in the early 1960's.

Barrie Drama Past Productions:
Cinderella

Barrie Drama's presentation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's CINDERELLA was a sell-out success! The first three nights of the play were sold out and more than 200 children attended the matinee. This timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale was first presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews and was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreations in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren, and again in 1997 starring Brandy and Whitney Houston (and seen by over 60 million viewers) were no less successful in transporting new generations to the kingdom where dreams-come-true.

This production involved more than 50 students in a variety of roles. Students were involved on stage as actors, singers and dancers. The cast featured Terry Krueger (03) as Cinderella, Ben Shepard (03) as the Prince, Rachel Levine (03) as the Stepmother, Sarah Goodman (04) as the Fairy Godmother, Audra Fannon (07) and Yewande Panox (04) as the Stepsisters and Chuck Gang (03) and Lindsay Droter (07) as the King and Queen.

This show was very complex and our technical crew worked hard under the direction of Beej Flamholz. Seniors Andy Fuller, Charlie Ebbecke, Peter Doidge and Chuck Gang along with Jarrett Colby (04) mentored our junior technical crew as they created a working fountain, a track system used to move scenery and computerized lighting for special effects. Costumer Leslie Magida (03) and Stage Manager, Claire Green (05) took leadership roles as they helped director/choreographer, Natalie Wolf, handle production issues. Vince Patterson put together a combination of Barrie musicians and professional musicians for our 'orchestra'.

Congratulations to the cast and crew on an excellent play!
