Middle schoolers handled the complexities of Shakespeare’s fast-moving comedy about love and magic and the delightful confusion that ensues when the characters never know which is driving their passions. Two masked actors, identically costumed, portrayed each of the characters, one doing the voice and the other doing the movements on stage. Each pair of actors designed and hand-painted their matching masks and worked together for weeks to develop and better understand their roles, their peers, and the joy of Shakespeare.
