Fall Play - "Phipps", "Fancy Free" and "Playgoers"

Upper School students performed three one-act comedies which explored the foibles and absurdities of Edwardian high-society. In " Phipps," a feckless husband and wife are unable to manage their personal affairs without the assistance of their butler. " Fancy Free" is an elegant comedy of manners in which a young man embarks upon an affair with the wife of a friend only to encounter the friend in a similar situation at the same hotel. " Playgoers," the third play in the program, is a verbal farce in which a pretentious couple attempts to lift the spirits of their malcontent servants by offering them an evening at the theater.
